Robert “Bob” Royce Sr.

Robert “Bob” Bruce Royce, Sr., age 72 of Wyoming, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 27, 2019.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 15 years, Diana Kay, and brothers, Jim and Bill. He will be dearly missed by his children, Robert Royce, Jr., Steven and Angela Royce, Shanyn and Andrew; 8 grandchildren; stepchildren and step grandchildren; brother, Terry and Carol Royce; sisters-in-law, Sally Jo and  Dorothy; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bob valiantly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a dedicated employee at the Steelcase Distribution Center for 33 years and 7 years at Detroit Diesel. Bob was a faith filled Catholic and supported St. John Vianney Church for many years. He loved to cheer on the Detroit Lions, Red Wings, and Notre Dame football and fished many area lakes and streams.  Bob really got into the holiday spirit by wearing green boots on St. Patrick’s Day, dressing as Santa Claus at Christmas, and dressing up to pass out candy to the kids on Halloween. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Friday, August 2, 2019 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 4101 Clyde Park Ave. SW, Wyoming. Interment Rosedale Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 6-8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Wounded Warrior Project.
