
Robert Donald Deemter, age 86, of Grandville, was called home to his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 25, 2024. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Margie (Plummer) Deemter; children, Dawn (Doug) DeVries, Donn (Shelley) Deemter, Janice (Scott) Bosscher, Eric (Mary) Wood; 10 grandchildren, Gunnar Meyering, Mackenzie (Brierly) Kududzayi, Holden (Bethany) Meyering, Madelyn Deemter, Brooklyn Deemter, Mitchell Deemter, Jacob Bosscher, Charlie Bosscher, Ava Wood, Brady Wood; three beloved great-grandchildren; siblings, Art (Joyce) Deemter, Ray (Marge) Deemter, Joan (Will) DeKraker, Judy (Elmer) Hunderman, Deanna (Nick) VanderWall, Dan (Annette) Deemter; along with many nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Dena Deemter; and his son, Dann Deemter. Bob was the proud owner of Bob’s Glass Company in Wyoming, Michigan, which he built from the ground up and ran for 25 years. He left a lasting legacy on the Greater Grand Rapids area with many commercial glazing projects. Bob also enjoyed spending time with family and friends up north and working on projects at his cottage on Dyers Lake in Falmouth, Michigan. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 28, at 11 a.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. The burial will take place at Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Thursday, June 27, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Guiding Light of Grand Rapids.
