Rick Pointer, Sr.

Rick Pointer, Sr., age 69, of Cutlerville, went peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior, surrounded by his family on Thursday, November 6, 2025. He spent most of his working life handling metal stamping. He loved riding his lawn mower and was the biggest fan of the movie Twister. Rick is regarded as one of the best grandpas there could have been. 

He was preceded in death by his son, David Pointer; his granddaughter, Alexius; mother and father, Leo and Rose Pointer; mother-in-law, Dawn Tilley; father-in-law, Jim Scafe; brother, Kyle Pointer; sisters-in-law, Mickey and Sandi.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 45 years, Sandy; his children, Rick Jr., Heather, Shawn and his wife, Ruth; his grandchildren, Caleb Pointer and his partner Callie, Hailey Pointer, Zoë, Makayla Pointer, Arieana, Braydon; his great grandchildren, Emberlynn, Aaliyah, Ella; brothers-in-law, Dan, Tom and his wife, Kendra, Brandon; nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday, November 12 from 10 am to 1:15 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood.  Burial at Kent Memorial Gardens.
