Ricky Allen LeClaire

Rick LeClaire, age 63, of Dorr Michigan passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 

Rick was born in Amarillo, Texas, and moved to Michigan with his family at a young age. He spent much of his life working as an access control engineer and building homes, taking great pride in creating things with his hands. Rick had a love for classic rock music and cherished his summers spent cruising on his speedboat. He had a witty sense of humor and a gift for impressions, always bringing laughter to his family and friends.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Sharie of 40 years; his father, Carl “Bill” LaClaire; children, Lydia (Cam) Friesma, Melissa LeClaire, Ryan LeClaire; siblings, Randy (Ellen) LeClaire, Jeff LaClaire; several nieces, nephews, grandnephews.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Jane LaClaire. 

Funeral services will be held 12 pm Friday, April 3 at  Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave SE, Kentwood, with Rev. Chris Pannell officiating.  Burial will be held at Salem Township-West Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 4-7 pm at  funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Humane Society of West Michigan.
