Richard Walkotten

Richard John Walkotten, age 81, of Hudsonville, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 26, 2023. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Rich worked 37 years at General Motors on 36th St., first as a tool & die maker and later as CAD/CAM supervisor. He was preceded in death by his grandchildren, Andrea Walkotten, Allyson Wilson, and Daniel Wilson; and brothers-in-law, Lee McKay, and Jim Schuitman. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 64 years, Judy (Geelhoed); children, Wayne and Kelly Walkotten, Steve and Rose Walkotten, Mark and Sue Walkotten, Lori and Mark Wilson; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Walkotten, Jean Schuitman, Susan McKay; special family friend, Cathy Prenkert; and three nieces. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, December 29, 2023 at Fellowship Church, 6610 36th Ave., Hudsonville with Pastor Shawn Hulst officiating. Burial will take place at Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday, December 28, from 5-8 pm at the church and on Friday from 10-10:45 am prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Jehovah Jireh Ministries (Hudsonville).
