Richard (Dick) Ernest Spencer, age 95, of Wyoming, MI, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 4, 2017, with many family present in his last hours. He is now in the presence of the Lord he served for so many years and with his wife, Audrey Mae Spencer, who preceded him in death on June 11, 2015, after 62 years of marriage. Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved his God, family, friends, and church. He was pastor of several churches and involved in many ministries for over 60 years. A man of integrity and passion for the Lord, he never tired of sharing his faith. He continued with energy, humor, and enthusiasm to serve until the time of his death. Richard was a World War II army veteran in Europe and North Africa. He was proud of his service to the country he greatly loved. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Leigh and Gary Ames, Debbie and Bob Fowler, Paul Spencer, Rick and Anne Spencer, Mark and Jerri Spencer, Rachael Roerig; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; brothers, James (Chip) Spencer and Eldon Spencer; several nieces and nephews, as well as extended family and many dear friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 8, at 11 a.m. at Grand Rapids First Church in the Prayer Chapel,
2100 44th St. SW, Wyoming, MI, with a luncheon following. Interment will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Thursday, December 7, from 6-9 p.m. at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville)
