
Richard J. Hollis, age 75, of Wyoming, peacefully passed away and went with the Lord on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. He proudly served as a police officer for the Wyoming Police Department for 22 years. After retirement, he enjoyed running a hobby farm with horses, splitting wood, and working outdoors. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially taking tractor rides with them. He was a sociable man who loved to talk with others. He also enjoyed the Detroit Lions.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years, Deborah Hollis; daughters: Shannon Hollis, Traci Hollis, Ondrea Hollis; grandchildren: Allatia Ochoa-Peredez, Mariah Hollis, Travis Hollis, Fennath Hollis, Mercedes Stanard, Teigon Hollis; great-grandchildren: Cayleona, Gilberto “Chuey,” Dominic, Easton, Leo, Rosie, Norris, Waylon; great-great-grandson, Tyrone “Booter;” siblings: Roger Hollis, Linda Pierce, Sherry Timmer; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Barbara Hollis.
According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends may meet the family Saturday, September 28, 2024, from 4-6 p.m. at MKD Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 3131 Division Avenue S, Wyoming MI.
