Richard A. Bowen, “Dick”, age 77, of Allendale, our father, hero, soulmate, and granddad, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Some of his favorite pastimes included spending time with his family, golfing, watching Westerns or WWE, and bowling. Dick was also a three-year champion of the Wii bowling tournament at the Sawmill Estate. Family was most important to him; he led by example in teaching his family unconditional and selfless love. During his own health struggles, he felt it was his purpose to care for his dear Vickie and provide for her. He will be greatly missed for his mischievous smile, love of desserts, and twinkling blue eyes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Lola Bowen; brother, Bill Bowen; daughter, Sally Anne; grandson, Joey; and two great-granddaughters, Jayda and Kyla. Dick will be lovingly remembered by his soulmate of 33 years, Vickie; sons, Jim (Tricia), Jeremy (Katie), Jordon (Richard); daughters, Sherri, Shannon (Brian), Chasity; grandchildren, James, Aaron, Beylea, J.T., Mychaila, Tyler, Matthew, Karah, Tegan, Derrien, Abby, Cody, Blaine, Ciara, Noah, Lance, Alex, Blake; great-grandchildren, Emmett, Everly, Alaya, Skylar; sister-in-law, Patricia; brother-in-law, Tom; nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Per Richard’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held for his family and friends at a later date. The family extends their appreciation to Faith Hospice who gave special care to Richard. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice.
