
Richard “Dick” Bosscher, age 85, of Hudsonville, was called to his heavenly home on Monday, January 2, 2023 after a year and a half journey with cancer. Dick was a kind and loving husband, dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa who was blessed with a sense of humor. He proudly served his country in the US Army where he was stationed in Guam. Dick was a custodian at Hudsonville Christian School, retiring after 31 years of faithful service. Over the years, Dick enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, golfing, and spending winters in Destin, Florida. Above all, his faith in Jesus and dedication to his family was evident to all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy (Rozema) Bosscher, brother and sister-in-law, Robert (Ruth) Bosscher; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mary (Sid) Sytsma. Dick will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 30 years, Marilyn (Yff-Bliek) Bosscher; children, Sandy (Tim) Yockey, Beth (Dennis) Mulder, Doug (Nancy) Bosscher, Brad Bliek, Greg (Linda) Bliek, Bryan (Virginia) Bliek; grandchildren, Lynn (Mike) Dozeman, Sara (Philip) Bosman, Scotty Yockey, Ashley Yockey, AJ Bosscher, Tyler (Katelyn) Bliek, Amber (Josh) Calderon, Kody Bliek, Mya Bliek, Ryan Bliek, Austin Bliek, Caden Bliek, Annika Zube, Elijah Zube, and Chase Walsh; eight great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Arlene (Duane) DeWeerd, Marcia (Pat) Rewa, Ellen (Clyde) Spoolstra, John (LaVerne) Yff, Shirley Huizinga, Carol (Marvin) Schaap, Betty (Dave) Wiersma, Ruth (Joseph) Perrin, Sandy (Ed) Hofstra; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 6, 2023 at Chapel Pointe, 3350 Baldwin St., Hudsonville with Pastor Jim Jeffery and Pastor Don VanSlyke officiating. Burial Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 5-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and also from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service at church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Hudsonville Christian School or to Chapel Pointe Church.
