Richard Allen Massop

Richard Massop, age 83, of Hudsonville, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at Robbinswood Assisted Living. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Brenda Alene Massop; father, John Joseph Massop; mother, Marguerite Massop; father-in-law, Charles Carson; mother-in-law, Cassie Carson and son, Micheal Massop. Richard was born in 1942 on October 31st. He worked at General Motors for 44 years. Richard’s life was his family and his work. He loved movies, music and the latest gadgets to come on the market. He was a loving husband of 34 years, a loyal father, a tireless worker and a great friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Richard leaves behind his sons, Charles (Lynn) Massop, John Massop, Jason Massop, Steven (Tina) Massop; his daughter, Lindsey Massop (Dino Muratbegovic), and 17 beautiful grandchildren whom he loved dearly. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Betty Hadley and also the staff at Robbinswood for the tender and loving care they showed to Richard. Funeral services will be held 11 am Tuesday, June 2  at  Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming, with Rev. John Vallier officiating. Burial will be held at Resurrection Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday, June 2, 2026  from 10-11 am at  Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming.
