
Rebecca Kile, age 70, of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, March 19, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer following her diagnosis in December 2025.
She was independent, strong-willed, intelligent, and hardworking. She loved her cats—especially Molly—enjoyed trivia, and took great joy in her birds, particularly Lucy and Sammy. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren, had a passion for riding on the back of her husband Don’s motorcycle, and took pride in her tattoos.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnathan Shawman and Jacquelyn Fessenden; daughter, Jennifer Sanders; son, Donald Jr lll; younger sister, Andrea Burnham; parents in law, Donald Sr. and Bonnie Jean Kile.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Donald Jr. Kile Jr. of almost 42 years; children, Edrie (Jerry) Rodrick, Anita Kile, Eleshia Kile; 10 grandchildren; sister, Barbra (John) Dykla and her two cats Honey and Rufus.
According to Rebcca's wishes she will be cremated and a family memorial will be held at a later date. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the CSNIP Veterinarian clinic.
