Rebecca Aguilar Espinoza

Rebecca Espinoza, age 88, of Wyoming, passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2020. Rebecca was born in Laredo, Texas, to Simon and Juana Aguilar. She worked for 17 years as a parapro at Grand Rapids Public Schools. She loved crossword puzzles and coloring, coffee with Mexican sweet bread, watching CNN and westerns, but most of all, she loved her family, known as “Grandma Becky.” She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel; sisters: Julia Gonzalez, Lupe Guevara; brother: Santiago “Jim” Aguilar. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Thomas (Diana Lozano) Espinoza, Andrew Espinoza, Phillip (Kathy) Espinoza, Raymond (Sarah) Espinoza, Vincent (Kathy) Espinoza, Mary Jane (Toribio Paiz) Espinoza-Paiz, Anita (David) Jackson, Estella Espinoza; 24 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; sister and brothers: Maria “Fela” Ysasi, Simon (Irma Garcia) Aguilar, Robert Aguilar; dog, Sophie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 7, 2020, at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 101 Hall St. SE, Grand Rapids, with Rev. Ted Kozlowski celebrating. Burial will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday at the church from 10-11 a.m. (there will be a limit to the number of people allowed in church at a time). Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Our Lady of Sorrows Church.
