Raymundo Hernandez

Raymundo Candela Hernandez, age 93, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023. He was born in Saspamco, Texas, before moving to Michigan. Raymundo was a kind and fun-loving dad, grandpa, and uncle who was blessed with a great sense of humor and a contagious personality. He retired from Kelvinator after many years of dedicated service. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Raymond and Lucy Hernandez, Abel and Ellen Perez, Linda and Ramon Diaz; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Rosa Hernandez, Juanita and Eugenio Ramirez, Joaquina Salinas; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nieves Sr. and Juanita Hernandez; son, Thomas Hernandez; grandchildren, Philip Hernandez, and Joseph Hernandez; siblings, Alex, Nieves Jr., and Flora. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. The burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from noon-1 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
