Raymond Dame

DAME – Raymond Dame, aged 83 of Kentwood went to be with his Lord on Monday, January 4, 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Betty and sister, June. He is survived by his daughters, Laurie Simons and Julie Dame; grandchildren, Ashley and Mike DeVille; great-granddaughter, Naomi DeVille; several nieces and nephews and many fishing buddies. He retired after 35 years from General Motors as a tool maker. He enjoyed golfing and was an avid fisherman. Ray had a great sense of humor. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, an amazing friend and good Christian man. He was a member of Central Reformed Church and later Community Christian Reformed Church. Funeral services for Ray will be held Thursday at 11:00 am at the Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Chapel (Kentwood), 4646 Kalamazoo SE with Pastor David Struyk officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Spectrum Health Hospice or Community Christian Reformed Church.
