On Sunday, June 1, 2025, the angels came and walked Randall “Randy” Lee Stegewans, age 71, of Jenison, home to be with Jesus. Randy was a kind and loving husband, dad and papa who had a huge heart to serve others. Blessed with a strong work ethic, he retired from General Motors 36th St. Fisher Body Plant after 28 years of dedicated service. Following retirement, he began R&S Stump Grinding and Tree Removal. Randy was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and hunting at his property up north with his family where many cherished memories were made. Above all, his love for Jesus, his dedication to serve others, and his love for his family was evident to all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Bernita Stegewans; brother, John Stegewans; parents-in-law, Neal and Betty Braat; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mark and Kris Braat; Melinda Braat; Mike Hutt; nephew, Josh Braat. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Michele Stegewans; children, Sabrina and Kevin VanderWeide, Nick and Jenny Stegewans, Sarah Stegewans; proud papa to his grandchildren, Trevor, Jordan, and Kaylee VanderWeide; brother, Mike Stegewans; sister, Cheryl and Chris Van't Hof; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mike and Mary Braat, Matt Braat, Mitch and Kim Braat, Melanie Hutt;  many loving nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, which he considered his “fourth child”, Charlie. A celebration of life open house will be held on Thursday, June 5, from 5-8 p.m. at the MKD Reception and Event Center, 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, Grandville. A private family graveside service was held at Mt. Carmel Cemetery (Big Rapids, Michigan). Those who wish may make memorial contributions to ResLife Camp.
