Ralph Scharphorn

Ralph Scharphorn, age 89, of Blendon Township, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 6, 2024. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary; daughter, Lesley; son, Ronald “Ron”; and his siblings, Carl, Neil, Mary, and Don. Ralph is survived by his siblings, Irene, Dave, Jerry, Jim, and Kenny; many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Ralph served in the Michigan National Guard and spent many years as an upholsterer. In his later years, he spent time at his son Ron’s shop, Lake Cycle in Grand Haven, where he would work on motorcycles and spend time with others. Ralph also enjoyed anything dealing with trains or tinkering with his tractors. The burial will be held at Allendale Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, June 18, from 5-8 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 6651 Scott St., Allendale.
