
R. Terry Nyenhuis, age 88, of Jenison went to be with his Lord on Saturday, February 21, 2026. He was preceded in death by his son, Terry; son-in-law, David Wildey; siblings, Howard (Phyllis) Nyenhuis, Wayne Nyenhuis, Louise (Jim) Johnson, George (Leona) Nyenhuis, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Marlene Nyenhuis, Harvey Brouwer, Everett Austhof, Ike (Karen) Lameyer, Robert Groendyk, Ronald Hoeksema, Claire Lameyer, Keith Mingerink. Terry will be lovingly remembered by his wife of nearly 70 years, Theressa; children, Donna (Dennis) Snyder, Barbara Wildey, Rex (Sallie) Nyenhuis, Tom (Lisa) Nyenhuis, Michelle (Art) Turkstra; former daughter-in-law, Kathy Nyenhuis Miller; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; siblings, Don Nyenhuis, Irene Brouwer; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Betty Austhof, Minie Hoeksema, Marcia Lameyer, Bonnie Mingerink, Lavonne (Jan) Koens; extended family and friends.
Terry was a loving and kind husband and an encouraging father. He enjoyed sports, especially playing fast pitch softball in his younger years, where he was known as an outstanding pitcher. He supported his family as an accountant and supported the community by gladly volunteering as an elder and deacon at his church, serving on the school board for Calvin Christian, at Crossroads Ministry and at Nice Twice Resale Shoppe. Terry was also the Treasurer for CRC Classis Grandville for 48 years. He loved being part of his children and grandchildren's lives and enjoyed attending their various activities. Terry loved his wife and his family; he was a faithful and prayerful man and will be so very missed.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at South Grandville Church, 4130 Wilson Ave. SW, Grandville, with Rev. Dan Mouw and Rev. John Witvliet officiating. Burial will take place at Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Tuesday, February 24, from 5-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, and from 10-10:45 am on Wednesday at church prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to South Grandville Church or Grandville Calvin Christian Schools.
