Priscilla Alice Bunker

Priscilla Alice (Howland) Bunker, age 92, formerly of Cascade Township passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2019. Born and raised in Boston, MA, “Cil” was the youngest of four children and loved school, music and art. After high school, she worked as a commercial artist for the Boston Federal Reserve Bank where she met and married her one true love, Kenneth.  They remained inseparable for 63 years, living in New Hampshire, Arizona and Michigan, with many winter trips to Florida. Cil was a talented seamstress and made many of her own clothes. She continued with art throughout her life, decorating furniture with rosemaling, painting watercolor landscapes, printing Christmas cards, writing and illustrating children’s stories for her nieces and nephews. She loved gladiolas and teddy bears, which she made for herself and her family. She is survived by her two sons, Alan (Nancy) Bunker of Kentwood, Ron Bunker of Placitas, New Mexico; three grandchildren, Charles (Yuliya) Bunker, Teri (Chris) Miller, Tom (Heather) Bunker all living in the Grand Rapids area; nine great grandchildren, Andrew, Alexander, Anthony, Marisa, Madelyn, Christopher, Kyler, Noah and Brooklyn; brother, Gilbert Howland of New Jersey. A visitation will be held from 5-6:30 pm on Thursday, April 18 at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood. There will be a brief funeral service at 6:30 pm following the visitation with a meal of mercy after the service at the funeral home. The family thanks the caring staff at Holland Home’s Breton Rehabilitation and Living Centre for their love and support. Memorial contributions may be made to Holland Home Foundation.
