Phyllis Martin

Phyllis Marie Martin, age 88, of Wyoming, was called home to Heaven and became our guardian angel on Saturday, December 23, 2017.  Phyllis lit up every room she ever walked into with her beautiful blue eyes, bright smile and contagious laughter.    She was born to John  and Margaret Steffens on January 26, 1929.  Her tenacity, perseverance and compassion for others influenced her decision to become an LPN where she served our community for over three decades.  Phyllis loved sewing, gardening, crocheting and most of all,   spending time with her family.  She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 61 years, Wayne; children, Kathryn Syswerda, Janet and Sam Faluso, Brian and Linda Martin, Paula Martin; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brother, William and B.J. Steffens; sister, Marilou Gladstone; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her siblings, John Steffens and Margaret Czachorski.  Relatives and friends may meet the family on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Wyoming) 4031 Clyde Park SW.  After the visitation, there will be a Prayer Service at 12:30 pm.   Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
