Donna Wright, age 90, of Jenison, passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
Donna was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who found her greatest joy in caring for her family. As the matriarch of the family, she led with quiet strength, selflessness, and an unwavering love for those she held dear. She was always thinking of others, putting their needs before her own and making everyone feel welcomed and cared for.
Donna enjoyed crocheting and was an avid fan of rodeos. She loved attending local rodeos and even traveled to Arizona to experience the National Rodeo Convention, creating memories around one of her favorite pastimes.
Those who knew Donna appreciated her honest and opinionated nature, though she was respectful and often shared her thoughts only when asked. She will also be fondly remembered for the little treats that became her trademark—her delicious brownies and ice cream, homemade Jell-O squares, York Peppermint Patties, and Werther's Original candies, which brought smiles to family and friends.
Donna's legacy is one of love, generosity, and devotion. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by the many lives she touched.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack O. Wright, Sr. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Jack and Desarae Wright, Catherine Smith, and Richard Wright; 5 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. The family would like to say a special thank you to all the nursing and care staff that cared for Donna over the years. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Hospice of West Michigan.
