Phillip Malone

Phillip G. Malone, age 85, of Hudsonville, was called to his heavenly home on Monday, December 9, 2024. Phil was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who cherished his family and had a special adoration for his grandchildren. He was always a committed supporter of all of his family's activities. Phil retired from General Motors and later Steelcase as an Industrial Engineer after many years of dedicated employment. Phil used his talents as a gifted musician to bless many people singing at various places and church events, often accompanied by his wife, Vicky. Phil was active at his church in serving in the church music ministry program and singing in the choir. He also enjoyed polka and ballroom dancing with his wife, Vicky, establishing many dear friendships with their dancing group. Phil enjoyed summers on the lake, whether boating, fishing, or enjoying peaceful sunsets at their lake home, and traveling. Phil had a passion for classic cars, owning several cars and attending many car shows over the years. Above all, his dedication to his family and love for Jesus was evident to all who knew him. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Bessie Malone; his brother, Ivan Malone, Jr.; and his son-in-law, Curt Male. His memory will be cherished by his wife of 40 years, Vicky; his children, Kirkland (Angie) Malone, Shelly (Carl) Male, Wendy Male, Kelly (Jekab) Vigants; grandchildren, Brittany (Justin) Dennison, Mackenzie Male, Blake Male, Taitum Male, Alexis (Trent) Winger, Jakob, Trevor Keur, Kennedy Vigants;  great-grandson, Jayden; brother, Rolland Malone; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Russ (Kerri) Shaler, Steve (Shelly) Shaler; and many loving nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 13, 2024, at Rush Creek Bible Church, 2334 76th St. SW, Byron Center, 49315 with Pastor Cameron Townley officiating. Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and also from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service at church.
