Philip Van Dyken

Philip Jon Van Dyken, age 55, of Allendale, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 after a stoic and courageous fight with myelofibrosis. Phil was preceded in death by his son, Benjamin Philip; parents, Eugene and Dorothy Van Dyken; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Sharon Nawrocki; nephew, Ian Nawrocki. Phil will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 26 years, Michele; children, Tyler and Kendrah Van Dyken, Maggie Mae Van Dyken; grandchildren, Michelle and Asher; siblings, Marc and Karen Van Dyken, Kristy and Dave Carey, Amy and Troy Brouwer; Michele’s siblings and spouses; many nieces and nephews; extended family and friends. Phil faithfully worked as a truck driver for Republic Services for 33 years. He had a deep faith in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was a prayer warrior and always witnessed his faith to everyone he met. Phil’s love of family was the center of his life. He also liked to take immaculate care of his yard and excellent care of his vehicles. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Monday, September 25, 2023 at Second Church, 6950 Lake Michigan Dr., Allendale with Pastor Adam Nordyke officiating. Burial will take place at Allendale Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday 1-4 at church for a time of visitation and on Monday from 10-10:45 am prior to the service at the church.
