
Philip Joseph Martin, age 79, of Wyoming went to be with his Lord on Friday, June 27, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Mildred Martin; father-in-law and mother-in-law, George Guimond and Madeline Carney; and brother-in-law, George Pope. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of almost 51 years, Kathy; children, Cindy and Dustin King, Melissa Reeths, Jenny and Mark Driesenga, Jason and Ashley Martin; grandchildren, Brittany, Aiden, Alena, Jayce, Tanner, Kaylee, Landon, Brooke, Jillian, Hudson, Joselyn; siblings, Ken and Rosa Martin, Priscilla and Pete English, Greg and Julie Martin, Candy Knoch; Kathy’s siblings, Randy and Sandy Pope, Rich and Kristi Guimond; extended family and friends. Phil proudly served his country in the US Navy. He retired from GM after 30 years of service. In his younger years, Flip, as he was affectionately called, enjoyed playing softball, golfing, and bowling. He could be found during the summer enjoying the sunshine and Lake Michigan. Phil also enjoyed gardening and keeping his lawn meticulous. His happiest moments though were with his family, spending time with them and sharing “Dad Jokes” and bad puns. He will be dearly missed. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming, with Pastor David Dakin officiating. Burial will be held at Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday, July 7, 5-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming, and from 10am until the time of the service at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Lung Association.
