Percy Hiemstra, age 79, of Jenison, after 5 years apart from his beloved wife, Donna, joined her in Heaven on Friday, August 11, 2017. Their life together demonstrated their love for God, strong dedication to family, and serving others. Percy proudly served his country in the US Army. He will be truly missed by his children, Randy (Barb) Hiemstra, Sheryl (Randy) Dreyer, David (Julie) Hiemstra, Karen (Mark) Piotrowski; grandchildren, Katelynd (Zach) Pulver, Aaron (Shannon) Haggerty, Cody Dreyer and Samantha Dreyer, Jordan (Jessica) Hiemstra, Nathan Hiemstra, Justin (Natalie) Hiemstra, Devin Hiemstra, and Juline Hiemstra, Shirley Piotrowski and Jackson Piotrowski; 3 great grandchildren, brother, Rev. Harold (Judy) Hiemstra; brother-in-law, Kenneth (Beverly) Den Boer; cousins; close cousin, Pearl Diers; many nieces and nephews; dear friends, Deb and Tony Peak. Percy was also preceded in death by his parents, Wiebe and Jeanette Hiemstra; sister, Margaret Wibbels; brother-in-law, Gerald Wibbels. The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers of Sunset, Railside Assisted Living and Faith Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, August 18, 2017 at Ridgewood Christian Reformed Church, 1571 Baldwin Street, Jenison, with Rev Harold Hiemstra officiating. Interment Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 6-8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, as well as one hour prior to service at the church on Friday. Those who wish, may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice.
