Peggy June Murphy (Fahey, Boatman), of Jenison (formerly of Lansing and Allegan), passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at the age of 98. She is now reunited with her parents, James Fahey and Winifred (Koopman) Fahey, as well as her brother, James Fahey. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Paul Edison Boatman and Marvin Homer Murphy.

Peggy worked as an Investigator for the State of Michigan’s Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs for many years and was an active member of the State Retirees Association functions. A lifetime Audubon Society member, Peggy loved watching birds and going “birding”. A strong advocate for environmental issues, Peggy loved supporting causes which protected the environment and planting of trees. Peggy was also an ardent supporter and fighter for women’s rights and causes.

Peggy will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Jo Ann Case and Patricia Lewis-Poll (Tom Poll); grandchildren, Wyatt Case, Miles Case, Kathleen Lewis; her sister, Winifred Buroughs-Peoples; and many friends in Lansing and Jenison.

The family is very thankful for Interim Healthcare and Trillium Hospice for their loving care of Peggy. Per Peggy’s wishes, her cremains will be interred in the Fahey family plot at Oakwood Cemetery in Allegan at a private service.
