Pearl Ritsema

Pearl Lorraine Ritsema, age 85, of Grandville, passed away peacefully at her home with her husband at her side on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, and is now resting comfortably in the arms of her Lord and Savior. Pearl served for 44 years as an RN at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was a faithful wife, wonderful mother, and tireless in her love to her family. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Henry and Ethel Howerzyl; brother, Dean Howerzyl; sister, Marilyn Hielkema; and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 65 years, Larry; her children, Kim and Pete Peterson, Brian and Nancee Ritsema, Dave and Brenda Ritsema, Dean and Laura Ritsema, Brent and Christine Ritsema; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Kari Peterson, Brandon and Liz Ritsema (Lucas, Lila, Laikin), Jared and Mary Ritsema, Amber Ritsema (Marquis), Chana and Jason VanderVennen (Addalyn, Makenna, Delaney), Cameron and Emily Ritsema., Ethan Ritsema, Colin Ritsema, Ben Meyer, Sam Meyer, Jack Meyer, Seth and Jacquelyn Ritsema (Kinsley), Ashlyn Ritsema, Caden Ritsema; brother, Dennis and Suzanne Howerzyl; brothers-in-law, Alan Hielkema, Henry Ritsema; sister-in-law, JoAnne Ritsema; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 11, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Hillcrest Christian Reformed Church, 3617 Hillcrest Rd., Hudsonville, with Pastor Reggie Smith officiating. The service will be recorded and can be viewed on the funeral home website on Monday evening. The burial will take place at Winchester Cemetery.
