Pauline Jane Takens

Pauline Jane Takens of Caledonia, aged 81, was called home by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, January 5, 2017. Pauline was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Ludolf Jay Takens. She was born in Benton Harbor on November 4, 1935. Surviving are her children, Ruth (Randy) Vellenga, Betty (Michael) Holman, Joe (Jennie) Takens, Wanda (Brian) Wine, Bruce (Cheryl) Takens.  She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pauline was a devoted mother and homemaker. She worked at Russ’s Restaurant and also at Smith’s Industries for a number of years.  Pauline enjoyed giving and helping all of her children and grandchildren and they brought her so much joy.  Funeral services for Pauline will be held Sunday at 2:00 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Chapel (Kentwood), 4646 Kalamazoo SE with Pastor Todd Smith officiating. Interment in Lakeside Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home Saturday from 3-6 pm.
