Paul Edward Goebel (“Wally”), age 52 of Hudsonville, a loving husband, father, grandpa (“bubba”), son, brother, uncle, and friend, is safely in the arms of his Savior Jesus Christ. Paul was a doer! He sought out literally anyone he could find to serve. James 1:22 states, “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” Paul exemplified this verse, and it brought him great joy to be helping others: mowing a neighbor’s lawn, video taping Unity athletic games, washing a widow’s car, building homes in Guatemala, or taking someone on a boat ride out on Lake Michigan. Paul had a servant’s heart and he lived it! He was employed at Western Michigan Fleet Parts for many years. He was a family man and wanted the best for Nancy and his family. Paul was very proud of his children and granddaughter. He cared greatly for them and was involved in whatever they chose to do. He loved Nancy deeply and appreciated her so much as his life partner. He found pure joy while snowmobiling on the UP trails or boating in 100 foot deep water out on Lake Michigan, thanking his Lord and Savior for the beauty in creation.

Paul was preceded in death by his brothers, James and David and his father-in-law, Ron Motman. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; children, Kendra & David Chesterman, Kam & Abbigal Goebel, Katrina Goebel & fiancé, Austin Steenwyk, Klaire Goebel; granddaughter, Sophia Chesterman; parents, Ed & Carol Goebel, Bill & Judy Motman Covert; sisters, Mari & Deb Goebel, sister-in-law, Dena Goebel; brothers and sisters-in-law, Sara & Troy Billin, Joel Motman, Beth Motman and fiancé, Dennis Morgan; many special aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. We thank God for Paul and know we will see him again in heaven. We love you, Paul!
