Pamala Joy Wilhelm, 78, of Wyoming, MI, moved to her Heavenly home to be with the Lord on December 23, 2024. Pam was born on July 14, 1946, to Bernard and Doris (Schmidt) Mazurek in Muskegon, MI. After graduating from Holland High School in 1964, she went on to attend beauty school only to discover that cosmetology wasn’t her “cup of tea.” In 1971, Pam married David Wilhelm, and they had two children, Peter and Katie. Later in life, she found a love for caring for the elderly, working and volunteering at various nursing homes.
People who knew Pam loved her for her kindness, generosity, and zest for life. Pam was outgoing and good-natured, making friends everywhere she went. She loved to shop and spend time having tea or lunch with friends. Pam showed her love by giving her time and attention to those in need and bringing silliness and laughter to her grandchildren, whom she adored.
Pam was preceded in death by her mother and father, Bernard and Doris Mazurek, and several beloved aunts and uncles. She is survived by her husband, David; her son, Peter; her daughter, Katie (Aaron) Johnson; her grandchildren, Libby and Wesley Johnson; her brother, Chip (Sandy) Mazurek; her sister, Gay (Larry) VanderBie; several nieces and nephews. Her recent struggles with Alzheimer’s are over, and she is now dancing and singing in her Heavenly body.
Funeral services will be held 1 pm Monday, December 30, 2024 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood, with Rev. Kurt Leininger officiating. Burial will be held at Oakgrove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 12-1 pm at the funeral home prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Pam may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
