Norrine Polkowski

Norrine Emily Polkowski (Chase-Roh-Treviso), age 90, passed away at home with family on September 1, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer.  Norrine was born in a farmhouse in Lowell, Michigan on November 2nd, 1928.  She was preceded in death by her eldest son, William S. Roh; husbands, Jack Roh, Nicholas Treviso, Edwin Polkowski; parents, Cecil Chase and Harriet Chase Roelofs; sister, Nancy Haskins (Randall). Norrine was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her family.  Her four sons were her life and there was never anything she would not have done for them. The deep love and commitment to her boys later transcended to her grandchildren and then great-grandchildren. She truly lived for family.  Norrine was also blessed with the gift of being an amazing cook and an incredible home maker with beautifully decorated homes. With her third husband Edwin, they designed and built four homes.  There are just too many unbelievable things to say about this amazing woman, she was undoubtedly one of a kind. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Jack Jr. and Joanne Roh, Robert and Michelle Roh, Tom and Deb Roh; grandchildren, Shannon Esselink  (Alex), Jason Roh (Ashley), Jack Roh III (Amber), Ryan Roh (Erica), Ashley Klein, Brandon Roh; six great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019 from 1:00-3:00 pm in the cafeteria at Godwin Heights High School, 50 35th St. SW, Wyoming, 49548. A light lunch will be served. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Godwin’s Golden “G” Scholarship Fund, 15 36th St SW, Wyoming MI, 49548, in memory of Norrine Polkowski (Chase) Class of 1946.
