Norman DeLeeuw

Norman Earl DeLeeuw, aged 83, born on November 16, 1932 a beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, October 22, 2016.  He was preceded in death by his grandson Tylor Jay Brower; son-in-law Thomas James Gehl; parents William and Rachel and brother Kenneth.  He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elsie Lou (Crumback); children Jeff (Deb), Debbie (Albert) Winchell, Greg (Robin), Kim Gehl and fiance Rick Thorington; grandchildren Kaylee, Todd, Rachel, John, Mary and Tommy; brother Bill (Teri); sister Lois (Jerry) Tegg; sister-in-law Caryl Jean.  Norm was an active member in the armed forces serving in Korea and a national guardsman for 40 years as a Command Sergeant Major (CSM).  He worked for Michigan Bell until he retired after 37 years and then spent his time golfing, traveling and spending time with his family.  Funeral services for Norm will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am at the Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Chapel (Caledonia), 616 E. Main St. Interment in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.  Members of the family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 7-9 pm.
