Norma Lynema

Norma Jean (Baar) Lynema, age 92, of Grandville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. She was a kind and loving woman who was deeply devoted to her family and found her greatest joy simply in being with those she loved.

Norma cherished many summers at Sandy Pines, where she was actively involved and created countless treasured memories. She enjoyed golfing and spending time outdoors. Gifted with knitting skills, she lovingly made hats, blankets, and clothing for her family and generously donated many handmade items to local hospitals.

A loyal fan of Tigers baseball, Norma delighted in the game and was known for her wonderful sense of humor, which brought smiles to everyone around her. Above all, her family was her greatest treasure, and her love will continue to be felt through the many lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Carl Lynema; and her daughter-in-law, Karon Lynema.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Keith and Dawn Lynema, Rick and Shirley Lynema, Deb and Dale Biesbrock, Mark Lynema and Katie, Nancy and Doug Bosscher; grandchildren, Kelly Lynema and Mike Gingras, Jake and Emily Lynema, Kat and Kyle Sanford, Dave Lynema, Tim and Crystal Biesbrock, Kevin and Lizzy  Biesbrock, Nick and Nicole Lynema, Ryan Lynema, AJ Bosscher; great-grandchildren, Aoife, Tyce, Mara, Cohen, Ciana, Kiva, Kelsey, Eric, Lizzie, Eva, Emersyn, Lena, Jonah, Katie, Nolan, Cora, Payton, Brooklyn; sister and brother-in-law, Verna “Vicki” and Ken Postma; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Jamestown) 2371 Riley St., Hudsonville, with Pastor Kyle Sanford officiating. A private family burial will take place at Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Friday, January 9, from 4-7 p.m. and on Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
