Nellie   Oppewall

Oppewall, Nellie  Nellie Oppewall, age 86, of Jenison, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 10, 2012.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Ted; daughter, Cathy Meyaard; grandson, Jeffrey Meyaard.  She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Karen and Ron Avink, Bonnie and Doug Shupe, Linda and Juan Becerril, Pam and Nelson Vandermeer, Dan Meyaard;  12 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sister, Gracie Wilbur; sister-in-law, Grace Walma; brother-in-law, Don Buikema; several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held 11 am on Thursday at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive with Rev. Gerard Van Groningen officiating.  Interment Grandville Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family on Wednesday from 6-9 pm at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Unity Christian High School or Alzheimer’s Disease Research.
