Neal Stickland

Neal Allen Stickland, age 92, of Grandville, passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on Monday, January 12, 2026. Neal was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who deeply cherished his family and the many special memories they shared. A mentor and encourager to many, he was a respected leader in his family, church, and workplace. Neal worked for 60 years in the steel fabrication industry and for the last 30 years led Van Dam Iron Works. Neal humbly served his community with kindness, compassion, and a selfless heart. He was known for his integrity, gentle spirit, and positive outlook on life. Above all, Neal’s faith was central to who he was, and serving his church brought him great purpose and joy. Family was truly everything to him. Neal also proudly served his country as a medic in the U.S. Army. 

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Roberta Stickland; and his siblings, Lois Stickland, Donna Hockin, and Robert Stickland. 

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Sally Stickland; children, David and Kim Stickland, James and Beth Stickland, William and DeeAnn Stickland; stepchildren, Mike and Jennifer McClellan, Dave and Jane Crane; grandchildren, Colin Stickland, Tyler Stickland, Alex Stickland, Elizabeth and Ben Thelen, Steve and Sarah Stickland, Aubrey Stickland; great-grandchild, Everley Thelen; and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, at Grandville United Methodist Church, 3140 Wilson Ave. SW, Grandville 49418 with Pastor Mona Joslyn officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Grandville United Methodist Church Endowment Fund.
