
Nancy J King, age 83 of Hudsonville passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on Tuesday, July 9, 2024. She is survived by her husband, James King; her daughter, Leslie & Dave Wilks; son, Timothy & Karen King; her sister, Cynthia Jensen; her brother-in-law, Charles Miltenberger; and her five grandchildren, Scott, Kevin, Lauren, Hannah and Bryce along with her two great- grandchildren. Nancy Hill was born in Taylorville, Illinois in 1940 and graduated from Niles High School in 1958. She was in the first graduating class at Grand Valley State College in 1967. She began her teaching career at Grandville High School in 1967 teaching English, German and Latin. Nancy was a life-long learner. She received her Master’s degree in German from Michigan State University in 1972. During her teaching career, she was the yearbook advisor and attended Aquinas College, Calvin College and Internationanen Hockschulferienkurs fur Studenten der Germanstik in East Germany. She also published several articles in Grand Rapids Magazine. After retiring from teaching in 2002, Nancy graduated from Davenport University with honors and a degree in Paralegal Studies. She continued her paralegal career in the Grand Rapids Bar Association until 2020. When she wasn’t studying, Nancy enjoyed reading, working on puzzles, cooking and traveling. She was an active member of her church, Our Lady of Sorrows, and a member of the Serra Club. Funeral services will be held 11 am Monday, July 15 at St. John Vianney Church 4101 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming, with Rev. Ted Kozlowski officiating. Burial will be held at Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday, July 14 from 3-5 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming.
