Moses Alier Kur

Moses Alier Kur, age 37, of Kentwood was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 24, 2021. He was preceded in death by his father Kur Deng Akuei and brother Akuei Kur Deng. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Philder; their children Adut and Amani; Mother, Yar Aguek Malith; brothers, Charles Aciek Kur, Maker Kur, Kuot Kur; sister, Aluel Kur; many cousins including Deng Kurjil Akuei, Akuany Majok Deng Akuei, Chol Thiek Deng and Majok Deng Akuei; uncle Deng Akuei; aunt Athiang Riak Nhial; many other relatives; his American family Josh and Amy Wallish, and extended family. Moses was an incredibly humble and quiet man who loved God and his family very deeply. His wife and children were his pride and joy. He was a compassionate and well-respected leader in his Sudanese community. He always put others before himself. Moses graduated from Grand Rapids Christian High School in 2003. He studied psychology at Grand Valley University. Funeral services will be held 11 am Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Providence Christian Reformed Church, 7730 Eastern Ave, SE, Grand Rapids with Pastor John King officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 6-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood.
