Michael Gene White, age 73, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on Thursday, November 5, 2026, in Wyoming, Michigan. Born in Biloxi, Mississippi, on May 22, 1953, Michael was a man who worked hard and loved even harder. A talented carpenter, he took great pride in working with his hands and generously built several custom decks for his loved ones over the years. His passion for the outdoors was clear to everyone who knew him; he loved to go fishing, boating, camping, and cheering on his favorite football team, the Kansas City Chiefs. Michael had a deep appreciation for the simple, beautiful things in life. He filled his home with beautiful plants and truly cherished good company and meaningful conversation. In his final days, he found immense joy in sitting by the window to watch the neighborhood children get off the school bus, keeping a watchful protective eye out to ensure each one made it home safely. Though his grandchildren lived far away, Michael was incredibly proud of his family. He deeply cherished keeping up with their lives and took immense joy in hearing about them growing up. He was a beloved father of two children, a grandfather to four grandchildren, and was proud that three of the four served in the armed services, and a great-grandfather to four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his two sisters. He was preceded in death by his four brothers. Known affectionately as “Uncle Mike” to many, he leaves behind a lasting legacy of friendship, protective care, and deep family devotion. It is Mike’s wish to be cremated and a private family viewing will take place. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Corewell Hospice and Wounded Warriors.
