Michael Edward Smith

Michael Edward Smith, age 39 of Wyoming, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017 and is in peace and eternal love.  He will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Edward and Michaele Smith; sisters: Jennifer (Dietrich) Kastens, Julie Godwin, Jeanne (Kan) Guvensel; nieces and nephews, Eliza, Henry, and Clara Kastens, Rivers Godwin, Kate Guvensel; grandfather, Robert G. (Betty) Smith; aunt, Susan (Jeff) Matthews;   and many close friends. Mike will be remembered as a compassionate, kind and humorous person.  He attended Wyoming Park H.S. and GRCC.  Mike was a big Cubs baseball fan and he also followed Northwestern University football.  He loved his dogs, Duke and Ruckus, fishing, fixing cars, metalworking, music, and playing guitar.  A memorial service will be held 12 noon Saturday at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park Ave. SW, Wyoming, MI  49509, with Dr. David Lee Smith.  The family will meet relatives and friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children.
