Michael Edward Burden

Michael Burden, age 81, of Wyoming, went to be with the Lord Saturday, September 13, 2025.  He was born and raised in Morley-Stanwood by his parents, Glen and Marguerite (Higginson) Burden.  He worked at Holland American Wafer Company retiring after 42-1/2 years building and running ovens. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, and bowling on several leagues. He also played and coached softball for the Dutch Twins (HAWCO) and grilled the most delicious rotisserie chicken for his family gatherings.  

Michael was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Ann (Morey) Burden; his parents and his older brother, Gary (Mernie) Burden.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Shelly and Don Aardema, David and Glory Burden; grandchildren: Matthew (Bridgett) Aardema, Katie Melanaphy, Laura Ayers, Christopher Burden; great grandson, Zachary; brother, Steve Burden; sister-in-law, Linda Morey; many nieces and nephews.  

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park Ave. SW, Wyoming, with Pastor Mark Bennink officiating.  The family will meet relatives and friends on Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
