July 8, 2026

Mical Ruth Fatuma Bronkema, age 21 of Byron Center, went home to be with her Lord on July 8, 2026. She was born in Uganda and came home to her family in the US at the age of 4 along with her brother, Moses in 2009. She graduated from Byron Center High School in 2024 and worked at Culver’s in Byron Center. Mical, was our lover of all animals, book worm, crafter, dog whisperer, dancer and shower singer. She loved jumping in Lake Michigan waves, watching storms on the porch, bowling with friends and family, baking, chocolate and watching movies. She loved spending time with her cats, Neutron, Widget and Willow and dogs, June and Dexter. Mical had a sweet, gentle and innocent heart. She would regularly express her love and gratitude to family and friends through cards and homemade crafts that she would spend hours creating. She was a loving daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt and friend. We will forever miss her laughter, sweet smile and listening to her talk to the pets in her loving, fur baby mama voice.

She will be lovingly remembered by her parents: Dan Bronkema and Brian Merucci; Lori and Daniel Jeffery; siblings: Lyric (Justin) Blake, Gavin (Macy) Bronkema, Cole Bronkema, Moses Bronkema; niece and nephew:  Arden and Desmond; grandparents: Mary and Gary Bronkema, Kenneth and Cheryl Thede; great grandmother, Anna Bronkema; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of Mical’s life will be held on the 20th of July at Cornerstone Church, 1675 84th St SE, Caledonia, MI 49316 with Rev. Ken Nash officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family from 12:30 – 2:00 for visitation. The memorial service will take place 2:00 pm.
