Melbourne “Mel” D. Krul

Melbourne “Mel” D. Krul, age 80, of Grandville, was called home to his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 3, 2017, while surrounded by his family.  He served his country in the Navy for four years and was privileged to be a  driver for Steelcase for 32 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 59 years, Donna (Groothuis) Krul; his children and precious grandchildren, James and Michelle Krul (Jonathan, Joscelyn, Matthew), Julie and Don Van Solkema (Ross, Anne), Melissa and Steve Postma (Michael, Benjamin), Jayne and Craig Vandenbos (Sarah, Sydney, Stacie); sister, Ruth Mulder; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Jackie Groothuis, Shirley Kosters, Larry and Nancy Groothuis, Harvey Veldhouse, Judy and Dave Hopkins, Nancee and Brian Ritsema; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Hope Christian Reformed Church, 3110 Barrett St. SW, Grandville, with Rev. Dale Fopma officiating.  Interment Grandville Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Sunset Legacy Foundation (Brookcrest), where Mel lived for 8 years.  The family would like to thank the staff at Brookcrest for the love and care given to Mel.
