Maxine Lois (Brill) Vogelaar, age 92, of Grandville, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 and now joins her husband of 62 years, Gerrit, who preceded her in 2009. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Betty Jacobs. She was a kind and generous woman who always put others before herself. She was a longtime member of Zion Reformed Church where she faithfully gave of her time and talents. As a member of the Avion Travelcade for over 40 years, she and her husband, Gerrit, traveled to every state in the continental U.S. She loved spending time at Georgetown Senior Center where she established many friendships. Being an avid sports fan, she especially enjoyed watching her Detroit Tigers and college football. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Lois and Gordon James; grandchildren, Rick and Amy James, Kim and Brandon Workman; 7 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Eldora Vogelaar; many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held on Monday 12 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, with Rev. Richard VanderWall officiating. Interment Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 11am – 12 pm at the funeral home prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Georgetown Township Senior Center.
