Matthew James Kaper, age 41, of Hudsonville, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 4, 2015 and went to be with the Lord. Matthew was a graduate of Jenison High School and Grand Valley State University. He was currently employed at Walker Roadhouse and had worked there since its opening and was known as “Copper”. Many people from the restaurant called him “friend”. Matthew enjoyed photography, motorcycles and art. Surviving are his parents, Ken and Sue Kaper; brother, Kris and Jan Kaper; nephew, Luke; many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his niece, Sarah Danielle Kaper. Funeral services will be held on Saturday 11 am at Rosewood Reformed Church, 2795 Rosewood, Jenison, with Rev. Richard VanderKlok and Rev. Howard Moths officiating. Interment Blendon Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 1-3 and 5-8pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW.
