Mary Salisbury

Mary Jane Salisbury (Benaway), age 83, of Grand Haven went to be with her Lord on Thursday, February 5, 2026. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lehman Benaway; second husband, Frank Salisbury; parents, Albert and Kathryn Bruins; daughter-in-law, Kari Benaway; and brother, Joseph Bruins. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Curtis and Stephany Benaway, and Robert Benaway and Gerri Carmean; step-children, Jeffery and Kim Salisbury, Frank Jr. and Jayne Salisbury, Sally and Kevin Carroll; step-granddaughter; six step-great-grandchildren; siblings, Allen and Kathy Bruins, Cory and Lori Bruins, Laura and Donald Hoitenga, Julie and Bob Ras, Gary and Pat Bruins; sister-in-law, Marilyn Bruins; several nieces and nephews; extended family and friends. Mary spent over 50 years cleaning for places such as Grand Haven Public Schools and various Lake Michigan cottages and homes. Mary enjoyed cooking, baking, and making cakes for her family. She loved playing Bingo and feeding and watching the birds. Mary cherished her time with her family, and she will be dearly missed. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Allendale Baptist Church, 6262 Lake Michigan Dr. Allendale with Pastor Larry Salisbury officiating. Burial will take place at Rosedale Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Tuesday, February 10, from 3-6 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Allendale) 6651 Scott St. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Allendale Baptist Church Missions Fund.
