Ivan Cristobal Lopez

Ivan Lopez, age 51, of Grand Rapids, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 5, 2026.

Ivan was a humble man who was always happy. He loved to play soccer, and he loved to listen to people and offer good ideas; he had a great deal of wisdom. He was a business owner and was able to have his family work alongside him in his cleaning company. He enjoyed staying active through biking, hiking, and working out. Above all, he loved his family dearly and cherished the memories he made with them.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 26 years, Zaida Arreaga Lopez; children, Ivan Lopez, Alex Lopez, and Brenda Lopez; parents Cristobal Lopez, Maria Hernandez; parents-in-law, Jose Patrocinio Arrega and Gabina Roblero; siblings, Geovanny Lopez, Aida Antonieta, Edilberta Lopez, Flor de Maria Lopez, Byron Lopez; siblings-in-law, Rosalba Lopez, Berny Lopez, Miriam Lopez, Mario Lopez, Antonio Arreaga; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Friday, October 9, at MKD Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood. Burial will be held at Pine Hill Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 4 – 8:30 pm and Friday from 10 – 11 am at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood.
