Mary Jane Sheldon

Mary Jane Sheldon, age 83, of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, May 30, 2025. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was blessed with an independent and determined spirit who always put her family before herself. She had a love for animals, whether it was a pet or a friendly yard visitor. Mary enjoyed the outdoors, especially working in her yard. She was preceded in death by her son, Fredrick “Ricky” Sheldon; sister, Pat McGuire; parents, Vincent and Doris Quinn. She will be lovingly remembered by her first-born son, Joe and Lori Miles, her baby boy, Scott and Melissa Sheldon; several grandchildren and  great grandchildren; sister, Lois Wheeler; brother, Edward Quinn; several nieces and nephews. A graveside service for family and friends will be held Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 3 p.m. at North Ensley Center Cemetery. Because of Mary’s love of pets and animals, the family suggests memorial contributions be given to the Humane Society of West Michigan.
