Mary Ellen Finkbeiner

Mary Ellen Finkbeiner, age 82, of Wyoming passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2026.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Grace Finkbeiner and best friend, Wilma Dochstader.  She is survived by her cousins; Noreen Peach, Marie Whittemore and Mary Kay DeYoung; friends: Jim Dochstader, Sue Campbell, Sharon McAllister, Sandra Wright, Daniel (LeAnn) Dochstader, Carolyn Navis and others who loved her.

Mary was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  She lived in the same house for 63 years until she moved into an apartment for 10 years and then assisted living.  She lived next to dear friends, Jim and Wilma Dochstader, whom she often traveled with and enjoyed spending the holidays.  One of her favorite places to go was Disney World.  She trained to be a nurse’s aide and enjoyed being employed as one for much of her career.  Mary enjoyed word searches, watching television, playing games, such as Bingo and Dominos, and visiting with friends.  Mary had a sweet spirit and many smiles that she gave away freely.  Even though Mary dealt with health issues most of her life, she lived a full, joyful and peaceful life.

A memorial service will be held 7 pm Monday, January 26, 2026 Pennelwood Church of God, 3459 Reiser Ave. SW, Grand Rapids, with Pastor Jeffery Ransom officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 6:30-7 pm. Burial will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery
