Mary Alice Bryant (Salisbury), aged 95 of Grand Rapids was taken to her heavenly home on Friday, April 8, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Owen Salisbury and Sidney Bryant; daughter and son-in-law, Martyanne and Ronald Hamstra; brothers, Jack (Patricia) McConnaughey, James McConnaughey, David (Rosemary) McConnaughey; sister, Kate (Fred) Clancy; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Vita McConnaughey, Nora McConnaughey, Emmitt Amidon. She is survived by her grandsons, Albert Warnement and Patrick “Ryan” Warnement; great-granddaughters, Kelsey and Kaitlyn Warnement; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Robert McConnaughey; sister, Jean Amidon; sister-in-law, Eleanor McConnaughey; and many, many nieces and nephews. Alice was a devoted farm girl whose job it was to round up and herd the hogs and cows back to the barn when they got out. She was a faith-filled woman working at St. Ambrose Church in Plainwell and then faithfully attending St. John Vianney Church in Wyoming. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, April 13 at 11:00 am at St. John Vianney Church, 4101 Clyde Park SW with Fr. Mike Alber celebrant. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Chapel (Wyoming), 4031 Clyde Park SW Tuesday, April 12 from 6-8 pm with a Vigil Service at 7:30 pm. Interment in Prairieville Cemetery. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.
