Marvin Peter Reminga, age 86, of Wyoming, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, November 8, 2017. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Nancy Dawn. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Debbie and Ken Ghent, Shelley and Terry Stowell, David and Barb Reminga; grandchildren, Tiffany and Matthew Morrison, Joey and Linsey Ghent, Travis Ghent, Jessica and Jason Elushik, Kyle, and Sadie Stowell, Kayla, Austin, Kevin, and Parker Reminga; great grandchildren, Hudson, and Luella Ghent, Cooper, and Harlow Elushik, Braverman, and Dekker Morrison; sister, Betty Kay Baker; sister-in-law, Gerri Colligan; several nieces and nephews. Marv was a loving dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa who treasured his family. Many special memories were made together over the years that will be cherished for a lifetime. He owned and loved classic cars and had a passion for road trips. Marv always loved his daily trip to Marge’s Donut Den, where he established many friendships. He proudly served his country in the Marines. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Monday, November 13, 2017 at South United Methodist Church, 4500 South Division, Kentwood, with Pastor Mack Strange officiating. Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, Grandville, and also from 10-11 prior to the service at church. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff and caregivers at Great Lakes Caring and Great Lakes Hospice for the love and compassionate care given to Marv.
