Marvin C. Meekhof

Marvin C. Meekhof, age 89, of Byron Center, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s Dementia, on Sunday, March 15, 2020. He was a builder by trade and a builder of friendships and relationships in life. Marv was a kind and generous man, loving and faithful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.  He was a charter member of Calvary Christian Reformed Church, where he served as an elder, deacon, and on the Building and Grounds Committee.  Marv loved traveling with his wife for many years throughout the United States, Mexico, and Canada and many fun memories were made camping with his family each year.  He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Margaret Meekhof; children, Daniel and Irene Meekhof, Julie and Rick Koning, Meri and Jim Vis, Sheri and Brian Poley, David and Connie Meekhof; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Howard and Genevieve Meekhof; and brother-in-law, Neil Baas.  He was preceded in death by his grandson, Joe Meekhof; and sister, Thelma Custer.  The family wishes to express their appreciation for the loving care provided to Marv by the staff at Byron Manor and Kindred Hospice over the past two years.   Due to COVID-19, a private funeral service will be held.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Guiding Light.
